Random Notes

I'm annoyed that CVS is selling "holiday" cacti. Christmas cactus is the actual name of the plant that blooms in the winter. Holiday cactus is a term used to describe a variety of cacti in the same family (Schlumbergera) and there are other kinds: Thanksgiving and Easter. So while technically holiday is accurate, I know that they are calling it because it's so taboo to even use the word Christmas anymore.

Every time I read the word "pivot" I replay the scene from Friends when Ross and Monica do their dance on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve and Ross is like: "Pivot, Pivot!" (I hope I'm remembering that episode right - I can't get the sound of Ross's voice out of my head.)

The Office: I love that Michael marked his new "girlfriend" on the arm with a marker so he would know which one she was.
