Catnip and Laziness

Catnip

Thursday, I got up at 7 Pacific time (10 EST), after about 6 hours of sleep. Not nearly enough. We were picked up to go to the airport at 1:45 and arrived in Boston around 11:45 EST. It had been a long day, but since I had to go to work the next morning, I wanted to get a good night's sleep in my own bed. I decided to drive home from Elsa's. I was starving, since it had been about 8 hours since I'd eaten, and figured McDonald's on the Pike would be open. Well, they were, but only walk-in. The drive thru at the Natick rest stop was CLOSED! and there wasn't a McDonald's at Westboro; only a Boston Market. Their drive thru was closed too. Famished, I decided to get off at the 122 exit and pick up a Happy Meal.

As always happens, I got stuck behind some eighteen wheelers on Grafton St. I don't know why, but this always happens, and it's always really late at night. It was around 1:45 am at this point. I finally got home around 2:00, and was looking forward to just going to bed. I changed into my PJs, and went to brush my teeth in the bathroom. There, I noticed that there was a bunch of dirt or something in the tub. Upon closer inspection, I thought it might be catnip. I thought not much of it; figured the cats had been playing with their scratching posts and had gotten some nip on their fur.

I was wrong. I decided to explore a little downstairs. I flipped on the light in the pantry and here's what I saw.

Sam got into a cabinet, chewed through a ziploc bag, and gnawed through the cover of a plastic tub of catnip. It's all over the floor. I vacuumed it up but I keep finding it all over the house.

Side note, kind of gross: I was literally sweating when I was sleeping on Thursday night (big shocker, what with the menopause). I threw off my covers at one point. When I awoke a few hours later, what did I find on the bed? 2 cats, and some cat puke. That's right. Someone had too much catnip and decided to throw up IN THE BED.

It's no wonder my weekend sucked. I was sick, with some sort of stomach bug, and slept for about 2 days straight.

Laziness

I'm the first to admit that I can be incredibly lazy. I'd rather trip over something than pick it up. It's annoying, I literally yell out loud when I do trip over things, but I don't always pick stuff up when it falls. I'm trying to be better. Tonight's lazy story has to do with the remote control. It's all the way on the other side of the bed, and rather than go look for it and change the channel. I'm watching AFV. That's American's Funniest Videos for those not in the know. Thank god it's over in 5 minutes.
